Appetent Ô

Medical Food for dietary management of erectile dysfunction

DESIGNED TO INCREASE NITRIC OXIDE SYNTHESIS Physician Information:

Product Information:

A deficiency of nitric oxide production is involved in the pathophysiology of erectile dysfunction. (1,2) Erectile dysfunction is a common condition associated with aging and is estimated to affect more than 50% of men over 40 years of age. (3) Patients with erectile dysfunction have unique nutrient needs related to deficient nitric oxide synthesis.

Appetent provides a combination of nutrients that stimulates nitric oxide synthesis.

Independent double blind clinical trials have shown that Appetent significantly increases nitric oxide levels measured in exhaled breath. Appetent contains a unique patent-pending combination of nutrients that increases nitric oxide production through a synergistic effect. Appetent contains arginine, glutamic acid and histidine along with a proprietary combination of other nutrients that promote nitric oxide synthesis. Appetent does not contain any herbs or stimulants.

Appetent enhances erectile performance and intensity of orgasm.

In clinical trials, subjects completed questionnaires rating their sexual performance at study entry and after taking Appetent or a placebo twice a day for one week. Compared to placebo, men taking appetent experienced 1) increased erectile firmness and thickness, 2) increased duration of erections, 3) decreased time needed between erections, and 4) increased intensity of orgasm.

Understanding TACIN Technology:

The dietary supplements developed utilize a proprietary methodology for producing desired effects. This methodology has been termed Technology for Activating Cellular Intake of Nutrients (T.A.C.I.N.) Formulations based on TACIN allow milligram quantities of individual ingredients to act synergistically to promote synthesis and release of specific substances normally produced within the body. Prior to the development of TACIN these results could only be produced by multi-gram quantities of certain ingredients, or could not be achieved at all.

Proposed Mechanism of Action:

It has been established that nitric oxide mediates physiologic penile erection. (4) by providing nutrients that stimulate nitric oxide production. Appetent addresses a key deficiency involved in erectile dysfunction.

Indication and Usage:

Appetent is intended only for patients under ongoing physician supervision. Appetent is recommended for use in the dietary management of erectile dysfunction.

Dosage:

Take 3 capsules at a time with water on an empty stomach. It is recommended that 2 doses of Appetent be taken daily for the first week, (3 capsules per dose). Thereafter , take appetent daily in the AM or before bedtime, always on an empty stomach. Optionally, an additional dose may be taken on an empty stomach 15-60 minutes prior to sexual acticity .

Contraindications and drug Interactions:

Patients should be warned about the strenuous physical activity associated with sexual activity. Hypersensitivity to any component of this supplement should be cautioned.

Carcinogenesis, Mutagenesis and Impairment of Fertility:

Studies of carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, or impairment of fertility have not been performed.

Pregnancy catagory C:

This product has been designed for the male population, and animal studies will not be performed.

Adverse Reactions:

In double blind trials of Appetent there was less than 5% incidence of burning with urination following the first dose. This reaction has been found to disappear with subsequent doses.

Overdose:

The amino acid concentration in Appetent is no greater than found in a normal protein containing meal.

Appetent is designed to provide the nutrient precursors to nitric oxide and glutamate. Appetent was formulated based on peer reviewed literature, primarily from the basic science biochemical literature. Four independent double blind placebo controlled trials have been performed utilizing questionnaires to assess the product's effects on male sexual function. An additional double blind study was conducted that evaluated the product's ability to increase nitric oxide production as measured in exhaled breath.
